Sending and receiving text messages will always be free — one-to-one and in groups. We’ve committed to it in our Terms: no per-message charges, no quotas, no paywall on replies. You can also browse the Grid, post 1 Now every 48 hours, share photos in chat, block, report, and use the basic privacy toggles — all free, forever.

Where is Huk available?
iOS first, launching in major European cities. Android and wider expansion follow shortly after.
How does the moderation work?
Every uploaded photo passes a human moderation queue before becoming visible. Usually approved in under 10 minutes. Reports are also read by a human within 24 hours.
Why is the map “self-only”?
Because broadcasting other people's locations is dangerous — full stop. The map exists so you can position yourself where you'd like to be findable. Discovery happens on the Grid, with approximate distance only.
How private is Huk by default?
Pretty private. Your face photo and a display name (any name you like) are all anyone sees — we don't ask for a legal name, a phone number, or a social-graph import. Distance, online status, and last-seen are independent toggles you control. Want to go further? Incognito mode (part of HUK Premium) hides you from the grid entirely while you keep messaging the people you choose.
What does “Huk” mean?
It's a play on “hookup” — but really, it just sounds good.
